Our Team Has the Know-How

The team of experts at N. Chapman Associates, Inc. brings our clients multiple skills, diverse technical expertise, and dynamic solutions.

Nancy Chapman, MPH, RD, the firm's principal, has 15 years of experience in policy formulation, evaluation, program management, and public health communications. She knows the statutes and regulations governing food safety, domestic and international nutrition labeling, biotechnology, food assistance, nutrition research and education. She maintains close friendships with the policy makers who formulate the policies and the people who influence these policy makers. She regularly speaks, publishes, and is quoted on food policy, nutrition, and international and domestic markets for foods and dietary supplements. She was professional staff for the House Agriculture Committee, chaired by Congressman Leon Panetta. She was an Assistant Professor in Nutrition at Bloomsburg State University and worked as an associate account executive for a large public relations firm. Ms. Chapman earned a Master of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.

 
 

Jasmine S. Chan, MS, RD, Research Associate, comes to N. Chapman Associates with interests in nutrition, food policy and public health. Her responsibilities include technical assistance, policy tracking and monitoring, program planning and communications.  She holds a Masters in Nutrition from Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, a Bachelors of Science in Food Science from the University of California at Davis and completed her dietetic internship through Virginia Tech.  Jasmine is an active member of the American Dietetic Association, the American Society of Nutrition and the Institute of Food Technologists.  In her free time, Jasmine enjoys sampling new culinary delights, jogging/cycling the C&O trail, wandering through museums and traveling.

     
  Amy E. Deschner, a Research and Marketing Associate, monitors nutrition policy, designs promotional and informational materials, and assists with development of public policy seminars addressing nutritional initiatives. Prior to joining N.Chapman and Associates Amy worked in government relations for RAND and then for the Alan Guttmacher Institute, concentrating on women’s health issues. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts from Guildford College and is currently enrolled at the Maryland Institute College of Art for a degree in graphic design.
