HEALTH AND NUTRITION COMMUNICATIONS

  • Design marketing, communications and media plans, and campaigns on food and health promotion
  • Communicate the science behind issues to professionals, policy makers, industry, media, and consumers
  • Write public policy columns and newsletters for food and nutrition professionals
  • Completes press release and identify and train expert spokespersons
  • Organizes biennial national symposium and meetings for industry that include speakers on consumer trends, policy implications for businesses, product innovations and marketing, food safety, and business strategies for growth

ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION

  • Serve as experts and bring credible science to debates on: food labeling, biotechnology, food safety, trade, nutrition programs, children’s health, aging concerns, physical fitness, research, and disease prevention
  • Analyze research and advise on health claim or other labeling options
  • Track food industry and consumer trends 
  • Prepare technical reports, position papers, and articles on research, product markets, and public policies
  • Conduct nutrient analysis of food products and develops nutrition labels and databases
